Yes. There is no handle to reach and no latch to work, so a child walks into it and through it. It also cannot be left propped open, which is the failure mode of a hinged screen door in a family house.

That is what the heavy black magnets are for. The seam pulls together from top to bottom, so the hundredth pass closes the same as the first.

It moves, as any curtain screen does, and the magnets bring it back together once the gust drops. In a badly exposed doorway a fixed frame screen is the better answer.

A damp cloth for dust. For anything worse, take the screen off, wash it in warm soapy water and hang it to dry before refitting. It is easy to clean and it does not stain easily.

It is built for a long service life. The mesh is heavier than the cheap nylon versions and resists corrosion, and the magnets are stitched in rather than glued, which is the part that usually fails first.

Neither. Black, brown and white are the same screen at the same price. Black gives the clearest view out, because your eye reads past dark mesh more easily than light mesh.

Match the frame if you want it to disappear: white on uPVC, brown on timber. Pick black if you care more about seeing out than about how the doorway looks.

Go up rather than down. Mesh will overlap a frame edge without any trouble. It will not stretch to cover a gap, and a gap is where the insects get in.

No, and it is not meant to be. It is an insect screen, not a security door. The main door still locks behind it in the normal way.

No. The screen sits on the frame face, so a hinged door still swings and a slider still slides. On an inward-opening door, check the door leaf clears the velcro strip before you press it down.

They can pull towards a steel frame and hold the seam slightly off centre. Move the screen a centimetre or two off the metal when you fit it and the problem goes away.

It does neither in any real sense. Dark mesh cuts a little glare and makes it harder to see in from bright daylight, but treat that as a side effect rather than a feature.

Yes. Internal doorways, pantries and rooms that open onto a kitchen are all fine, and the fitting is the same. Nothing about it needs to face outside.

A small nick in the mesh can be closed with a screen repair patch from any hardware shop. A tear through the seam where the magnets are sewn in is not worth patching, so get in touch.
